The Anglo American Group Foundation has made a three-year contribution to the Diamond Development Initiative (DDI) to support its efforts in the promotion of responsible sourcing and the improvement of the lives of artisanal miners.
“We salute Anglo American for their vision and generosity,” says Ian Smillie, chair of the DDI board. “They have proven themselves to be a leader in our effort to make diamonds a driver of development.”
This funding will enable DDI to carry out its principal functions. These are comprised of the implementation of the corporation’s Development Diamond Standards at mining sites, the registration of artisanal miners, and support to mining communities in need. CJ
