On January 28, 2022, a daytime robbery at Bogart’s Jewellers in Grand Falls-Windsor sent shockwaves through the community. The incident, which took place at the Exploits Valley Mall, remains under active investigation by the Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP.
The police were alerted to the crime when a panic alarm was triggered at the store. The suspect, a man donning a face covering, hat, and coveralls with “Bell Aliant” handwritten on them, made away with a significant amount of jewellery. Witnesses reported seeing him escape the scene in a black Honda Ridgeline.
