SNC-Lavalin will be working with Stornoway Diamonds Inc. to provide the latter with project management, procurement and construction management, and detailed engineering services. The services will be provided for the Renard Diamond Project in the James Bay area of Quebec, Canada. The project will be Quebec’s first diamond mine to date. The services will reportedly cost a total of $425 million or more, according to Newswire. SNC-Lavalin was previously involved with the engineering of the same project back in 2012.

This award is testament to our project execution capabilities around the world, including regions where climatic conditions can be challenging,” says Executive Vice-President of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc Dale Clarke, Newswire reports. “We are thrilled to support Stornoway Diamonds in the development of Quebec’s first diamond mine, a project that will contribute to the success of the province’s ‘Plan Nord’ economic development strategy.” CJ
