JVC File 2494 Armed Robbery, Kamloops BC
Two men who had their faces covered and armed with a large wrench and a ratchet entered a retail jewellery store located at Sahali Mall, smashed glass display cases and stole jewellery from within. The two suspects then left the mall on foot towards the Sahali Terrace. The first suspect is described as a wearing a light grey or white hoodie with the hood up, dark grey pants, white running shoes, a white balaclava with black markings, and white gloves with black on the knuckles. He was carrying a green recycling bag. The second suspect is described as wearing a white parka-type jacket with a fur-lined hood. The hood was up and his face was covered. Cpl. JVC File 2495 Break and Enter Theft, Hamilton ON
On Friday, December 4, 2018, at 5:15 am a male subject used a white pickup truck to smash the front door of a retail jewellery store located at The Centre on Barton shopping centre. Most high-end products had been placed in the store’s safe, but he was able to steal earrings, chains, and other gold merchandise that had been left out. He was in the store just over 2 minutes and then fled in the pickup. The suspect is described as a Caucasian Male, aged 18-25, slim build. He wore, dark Adidas running shoes, dark pants and dark winter jacket, possibly Northern Face brand. He also wore a dark coloured sweatshirt with a hoodie, possibly camouflage pattern. He wore a balaclava to cover most of his face and wore black and yellow gloves on his hands. Investigating officer Gregory Blunsdon 935 of the Hamilton Police is currently overseeing the case. JVC File 2496 Grab & Run Theft, London ON
On Friday, December 14th, 2018 at 4:15 pm a male subject entered and asked to see various gold chains. He then left and returned 15 minutes later. The suspect asked to see one of
the chains again. Once in his possession, he fled from the store without paying. Mall security and local police were called. The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, in his 20’s, with a ‘buzz’ cut hairstyle. He wore jeans and a black shirt. The London Police are currently overseeing the case.
JVC File 2497 Distraction Theft, Edmonton AB
On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 3:26 pm, two Caucasian men Strathcona Antique Mall and selected several items of various merchandise including some diamond earrings from a retail jewellery store. They tried to pay with a credit card, but the card was declined. During the transaction, one male is seen on camera palming the diamond earrings.
JVC File 2498 Credit Card Fraud, Theft Kelowna BC
On Saturday, December 15, 2018, a Caucasian female subject used a stolen credit card to obtain a diamond ring at 2477 Main Street, Kelowna. It is believed she has victimized several retailers in the area. The Kelowna Police are currently overseeing the case. The Police Occurrence number is 2018-75675. JVC File 2499 Armed Robbery, Toronto ON
On Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 11:15 pm a male subject along with a female subject entered a retail jewellery store located at 444 Yonge Street. They asked to see a gold bracelet, then had asked to see two gold rings. The victim retrieved the items at which time, the male pulled out a knife indicating a robbery. The male subject grabbed the two rings and bracelet and fled the store. The male subject was described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old, 5’9 to 5’10 with a skinny frame. He wore a black baseball hat with some green colour in it. He was also wearing dark pants with a white logo and Jordan shoes. The female subject is described of Asian descent, 5’8 wearing a dark coat and dark pants. Toronto Holdup Squad is currently overseeing the case, their contact number is 416-581-1104. Jewellers Vigilance Canada File 2500 Theft Grab and Run, London, Ontario
On the 19th December 2018, a lone male entered a retail jewellery store in Masonville Mall. He asked to see a Gold Bracelet. When it was handed to him he ran from the mall. A report was filed with the London Police Service # 18-135223. Cst Andrea Spencer. JVC FILE 2501 Break Enter Theft, Mount Pearl, Newfoundland ARREST
On the 21st December 2018 at 240am a retail jewellery store in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland was the victim of a Break and Enter. The store had a metal garage type door covering the front entrance. Two male suspects used a truck to ram the door and knock it off its tracks. They then smashed the glass in the entrance door and entered the store. Once inside the store, they smashed several showcases and stole a number of items of jewellery. The store owner provided JVC with a copy of the video which indicated when the suspects struck one showcase with a hammer the glass completely shattered however when then went to another showcase and tried to smash
the glass they had to hit it numerous times and only were able to make a small hole to fit their hand in and took one item. This greatly reduced the amount of the loss and it is felt by JVC, slowed the suspects down which may have assisted in the police making an arrest of one of the suspects. A report was filed with Royal Newfoundland Constabulary on report # 2018-74306. The type of glass in a showcase can make a big difference.
JVC File 2502 Armed Robbery, Markville Mall Markham Ontario ARREST
On December 30th 2018 at around 630pm four to six men wearing construction vests entered Lukfook Jewellers in Markville Mall, Markham Ontario and began smashing showcases with sledgehammers. A large amount of jewellery was stolen. A citizen tackled the last suspect to leave the store and slowed him down until police arrived. The incident is being investigated by York Regional Police Holdup Squad.
JVC File 2503 Armed Robbery Strathroy Ontario,
Strathroy-Caradoc police say two men entered a retail Jewellery store on Frank St in Strathroy Ontario and smashed glass cases. They then grabbed some jewellery and fled, police say. Police recovered a dark blue Dodge Ram pickup truck that was involved in the heist – and had been stolen from London Ontario. The incident is being investigated by Strathroy- Caradoc Police on report SC 18016554.
JVC File 2504 Attempt Armed Robbery Toronto Ontario
A lone male entered the retail jewellery store in the 900 block of Albion Rd Toronto.. Once inside the store, he produced a handgun. The owner struggled with the suspect. The owner’s son then joined the struggle. The suspect escaped and ran to a grey vehicle parked nearby and fled. The incident is being investigated by the Toronto Holdup Squad.
