Olivier, publisher of Canadian Jeweller Magazine and CEO of the RGM Group, shared a message of encouragement today in honour of the athletes who will carry Canada’s colours at the upcoming Milan–Cortina Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Every time the Games return, they remind us of something rare and powerful: talent has the ability to bring an entire country together,” Felicio said. “For a few weeks, Canada moves in sync from coast to coast. We gather around a performance, an effort, a moment that tells the truth about what it takes.”
In his message, he emphasized that the Games are more than sport. They are a form of cultural diplomacy, where competition becomes a shared language and each athlete’s journey becomes a story the world can understand.
“You are Canada’s ambassadors,” he added. “You’re not only carrying our flag, but you’re also carrying who we are: resilience, respect, humility, and determination. Canadian excellence isn’t defined only by winning. It’s defined by how you respond, how you persist, and how you show up for each other.”
Olivier also acknowledged the often-unseen network behind every start line and finish: families, coaches, therapists, volunteers, schools, clubs, and local communities. “Your success is collective,” he noted. “It belongs to everyone who helped you hold the line, keep believing, and begin again.”
He closed by extending his best wishes to the full Canadian delegation, hoping for unforgettable moments, defining performances, and Games that will make the country proud.
“Whatever the final results,” Olivier concluded, “you’ve already achieved something immense: you’ve given Canada a reason to come together. And that’s a victory that lasts.”
