The 2015 NICHE Award have recognized Mary Lynn Podiluk of Saskatoon, SK for her piece called Infinite Diamond Engagement Ring.
Podiluk, who is a Canadian art jeweller and goldsmith, was selected as a finalist in the Jewelry: Wedding category based on technical excellence, market viability, and a distinct quality of unique, original and creative thought.
The Saskatoon designer is inspired by language, the body and nature, and creates conceptually-based jewellery using precious metals and vivacious alternative materials.
The NICHE Awards program is now in its 26th year and recognizes the outstanding creative achievements of craft artists. Only 170 entries out of more than 1,000 submissions were named as finalists for this year’s competition.
This year’s competition winners will be announced on January 17, 2015 at the Washington Convention Center. CJ
