Cabrella is introducing what may become one of the most significant logistics shifts for the luxury goods industry in years: insured same-day delivery for high-value merchandise.
Through a new partnership with Cabrella and delivery platform, retailers and suppliers now have access to fully insured same-day shipping — a service that until now has largely remained unavailable for high-ticket luxury transactions.
The rollout positions Cabrella as the first shipping insurance provider in the market to combine same-day delivery with all-risk coverage for luxury merchandise, including jewellery, watches, designer goods, collectibles, and electronics.
For the jewellery industry specifically, the implications are substantial.
As consumer expectations continue shifting toward instant gratification, independent jewellers and luxury retailers are increasingly under pressure to offer faster fulfillment without compromising security. While major retailers have normalized rapid delivery in mainstream retail, the luxury sector has remained cautious due to insurance limitations and the inherent risks associated with transporting high-value merchandise.
Cabrella’s new program attempts to bridge that gap.
The service is now available across the United States for shipments where both pickup and delivery locations fall within approximately 20 miles of each other. Eligible orders automatically display a same-day delivery option directly inside the Cabrella platform and API integration, allowing users to compare rates and carrier options in real time.
Each shipment includes insurance coverage under Cabrella’s all-risk program, with declared-value protection available up to $150,000. Signature confirmation is mandatory on all deliveries, while optional ID verification at drop-off adds another layer of security for luxury transactions. Clients and customers can also track drivers live from pickup through final delivery.
Deliveries are fulfilled through Shipsi’s national delivery infrastructure, which currently operates in more than 5,000 cities.
For jewellers, the timing is notable.
With the industry preparing for another major buying season and trade activity intensifying ahead of JCK Las Vegas, the ability to securely move high-value inventory within hours rather than days could fundamentally alter customer expectations — particularly in dense metropolitan markets where speed increasingly influences purchasing decisions.
Beyond consumer sales, the service also introduces potential operational advantages throughout the jewellery supply chain itself.
Manufacturers, setters, wholesalers, designers, and retailers frequently move valuable merchandise between workshops, offices, suppliers, and storefronts under tight production timelines. Same-day insured transport offers a potential solution for reducing delays while maintaining visibility and coverage throughout the process.
Benjamin Meskin, Founder of Cabrella, believes the luxury market has reached a turning point.
“Luxury buyers have changed their expectations, and the logistics industry has largely kept up with them on speed. The coverage side hadn’t,” said Meskin. “A retailer offering same-day delivery on a $5,000 watch should be just as protected as they would be shipping that same watch through FedEx overnight. Now they are.”
For an industry built on trust, timing, and customer experience, the emergence of insured same-day delivery may quickly evolve from competitive advantage to expected standard.
As luxury retail continues modernizing, the jewellers capable of combining immediacy with security may ultimately be the ones best positioned to win the next generation of luxury consumers.
