Ownership and Funding

Readers are entitled to know who owns this publication and how it pays for itself.

Ownership

Canadian Jeweller Magazine is privately owned and independently published by The RGM Group. It is not owned by, and holds no ownership stake in, any jewellery manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer, buying group or trade association.

How we are funded

The magazine’s revenue comes from three sources: advertising in the print and digital editions and on this website; reader subscriptions; and the Time and Shine jewellery trade show, which the magazine organises.

We receive no government funding and no grants.

What that means for our reporting

Many of the companies we cover also advertise with us or exhibit at Time and Shine. That is unavoidable in a trade publication serving a defined industry, and it is precisely why the separation matters. Commercial relationships give no company influence over whether it is written about, or how. No advertiser or exhibitor sees editorial copy before publication.

Where a story concerns a company with a significant commercial relationship with the magazine or with the Time and Shine show, that relationship is disclosed in the story.
