Bell & Ross at Baselworld 2018

The luxury timepiece manfacturer Paris-based Bell & Ross exhibited several of their collections at Baselworld 2018. Here are some of the watches they presented.

The Vintage Racing Bird

The Bell & Ross design studio recently unveiled the BR-Bird, a flying machine concept designed by Bruno Belamich, co-founder and creative director. Having previously designed race cars and motorcycles, the BR-Bird racing plane is propeller-driven and intended to compete at the Reno Air Races. The company launched two new timepieces under the Racing Bird brand to complement the sleek clean lines of the aircraft. The BR V1-92 is a vintage style pilot’s watch featuring a white dial, and orange, blue, and grey accents to give the “feel” of an airplane cockpit gauge, while the BR V2-94 has similar cockpit elements and colours, 37 jewel movement and a 30-minute chronograph. Both are available in blue calfskin leather and the BR V2-94 is also sold with a stainless-steel band.

The R.S. 18 Collection

Now in its third year partnering with the Renault Sport Formula One™ Team Bell & Ross presented three high-performance chronographs at Baselworld. Inspired by the new Renault single-seat race car, the BR-X1 Tourbillon Chronograph R.S.18, BR-X1 Chronograph R.S.18 and BR03-94 R.S.18 are sure to be a hit with buyers that love auto racing. These sophisticated, avant-garde timepieces push mechanical engineering, technical skill, and innovative watchmaking to their limits. All were designed with top echelon motor sports in mind and it shows.

The BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire

The BR-X1 Chronograph Tourbillon Sapphire, introduced in 2016, was the brand’s first completely transparent watch. This year Bell & Ross has combined prestige, technical performance and its signature design into the BR-X1 Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire. What’s unique is that of the three colours just launched, only the gold will be available in-store; blue and black versions are available only online as according to their literature, “this special initiative serves to strengthen Bell & Ross’ links to e-commerce and the digital world.”

The Diver Collection

When first introduced in 2017, the square diving watch by Bell & Ross established its skill in the production of professional underwater instruments. The BR03-92 Diver was very well-received in the diving world and this year Bell & Ross expanded into two new colours, the BR03-92 Diver Blue and the
BR03-92 Diver Bronze. The latter colour is a nod to the bronze materials used by the first undersea explorers and features an engraving of an antique bronze diving helmet on the case-back.

The BRS Diamond Eagle Collection

Bell & Ross launched the BR S Diamond Eagle women’s watch in 2016 to huge success and in response to its popularity, they launched a complete collection this year. The dials are inspired, as previously, by the celestial sphere and are covered with sparkling diamonds. The new line is available in four heavenly colors: blue, white, grey and pink and comes in two distinct versions. The “simple” variant, with a delicate “Constellation” dial adorned with a host of tiny diamonds, or the “diamond” variant featuring a bezel set with 66 diamonds that makes it a piece of jewelry in watch form. A variety of bracelets are available for each colour.
