De Beers partners with diamond verification service

In an effort to ensure the original origins of their diamonds for a new product, De Beers and Singapore Diamond Mint Company (SDM) have partnered.

De Beers’ affiliate, The International Institute of Diamond Grading & Research (IIDGR), will be providing each diamond that goes through the SDM system with a identification number. Following the identification step, the diamond will then be analyzed to meet specific requirements in order for it to be dispatched to exchange.

“The unique inscription that IIDGR places on every diamond inside the diamond bullion allows all of the diamonds to be tracked and verified,” explains founder and executive chairman of SDiX and director of SDM Alain Vandenborre.
