On Friday, October 9, GIA will open its doors to the public as part of its annual Jewelry Career Fair & Open House. This highly anticipated event marks the one time of year when GIA’s scenic Carlsbad, California campus is fully open to the public.
The fair, which is free to all guests and job seekers, will feature nearly 30 companies that are looking to fill hundreds of wide-ranging positions. A full list of companies recruiting can be found here. Job seekers will also have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with career coaches specializing in their field of interest.
Attendees will also experience a finely curated selection of nearly 200 works of jewellery and objets d’art by 40 members of the American Jewelry Design Council (AJDC). These pieces make up the Institute’s featured exhibition, “Variations on a Theme: 25 Years of Design from the AJDC.”
In addition to viewing the Institute’s critically acclaimed gem and jewellery exhibits, guests will have a chance to visit the world’s largest gemmological library, take in gem and jewelry education demos—like GIA’s Jewelry Design & Technology program—and hear from notable personalities in the jewellery industry including award-winning designers, innovative entrepreneurs and top executives.
Must-see panel presentations will include titles like “Job Success in Today’s Market,” “From Design to Finish” and “Creative Careers.” To register, head over to the GIA’s website. CJ
