Jewellery Sourcing Tools That Install Like an App: Inside the Canadian Jeweller Buyer’s Guide

A trade directory that sits on your home screen, briefs you before you order and maps the stores of 31 countries.

Tap an icon on your phone marked CJ Buyer’s Guide, and a full set of jewellery sourcing tools opens on the screen. One shortcut searches 5,766 suppliers. A second opens the suppliers you saved last week, each with the notes you left yourself. A third sends a private request to every supplier that fits the job.

In other words, the Canadian Jeweller Buyer’s Guide now does part of the buyer’s work, and most of that work fits in one hand.

Quick answer: As of November 2026, the Canadian Jeweller Buyer’s Guide offers jewellery sourcing tools that install on a phone, brief buyers before they order, sort suppliers by city, store private notes, route confidential sourcing requests and map 52,961 jewellery stores in 31 countries.

How do these jewellery sourcing tools install like an app?

First of all, the guide is an installable web app, so nothing comes from an app store. On an iPhone, open canadianjeweller.com/buyers-guide in Safari, tap Share and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, meanwhile, open the same address in Chrome and tap Install app.

Android users can also reach the three shortcuts with a long press on the icon. As a result, at a supplier’s booth, that turns a price check into a ten second task.

Why does every category open with a buying brief?

Buyers make most sourcing mistakes before the first order, so each category page opens with the advice a seasoned buyer would give a new hire.

The lab grown diamonds page lists 198 suppliers in 16 countries. It first explains the supply: CVD and HPHT stones in calibrated melee, matched pairs and certified centres. After that, it tells the buyer to ask for full disclosure, laser inscription and colour that stays consistent across reorders.

Colour consistency matters most, because that is where margin leaks. A pair of studs that matches perfectly in November loses its value to the store if the March reorder arrives a shade warmer.

Meanwhile, Canada ranks fourth for lab grown suppliers in the guide with 26 companies, behind Hong Kong (56), the United States (35) and India (29).

Why do jewellery sourcing tools sort suppliers by city?

A supplier across town can deliver a rush order the same afternoon. In contrast, one overseas adds freight, customs paperwork and several days. For that reason, the guide sorts suppliers by country, by city and by category within a city.

What do these jewellery sourcing tools show before the first call?

For example, each profile lists minimum order, lead time, shipping regions and languages served. A store in Québec will look at that last line first; the Edmonton profile of Adamas Goldsmiths lists English and French.

In addition, a buyer can save any supplier and attach a private note. After the Time & Shine Jewellery Trade Show in Toronto, a store could save every company it met that day with one line each, such as “melee quote due November 20” or “ask about consignment on bridal”. Then, by January, the follow up list is waiting.

How private is a sourcing request?

A buyer who knows what she needs, but not who makes it, describes the item once. The guide then routes the sourcing request to listed suppliers that match its category, region and timeline.

Canadian Jeweller never sells buyer details. Moreover, when a request covers several suppliers, each one sees only its own items. As a result, most suppliers reply within two business days.

Where are the open markets for Canadian makers?

Wholesalers can search the retailer map by city, postal code or store name. Set beside the number of suppliers each country lists, the store counts show which markets are crowded and which are not.

For instance, Germany and France hold 12,548 mapped stores between them, yet only 123 suppliers from those two countries appear in the guide. Therefore, a Canadian maker choosing a first European market can start there.

The store counts include gift shops, watch and repair shops and online jewellers as well as traditional jewellery stores. However, we could not find a free, current Statistics Canada count of jewellery stores; IBISWorld estimates 2,980 jewellery store businesses in Canada for 2026.

Why does a current profile win the sale?

A supplier profile has become the first sales call, and an outdated one loses that call before it starts.

Every profile carries a Similar suppliers panel showing three rivals in the same categories, so a buyer who finds blank fields moves on to them. The guide also matches sourcing requests by category. A company that added custom design this year, but never updated its listing, will not hear about those jobs. Finally, the guide structures its category and city pages for Google and for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, which can only repeat what a profile says.

Updating a listing takes a few minutes through Update your listing. Meanwhile, the editorial team reviews new applications within three business days, and verification checks business registration, trade references and contact details. On top of that, an optional upgrade at US$99 a year adds one click email and phone contact, a website, social links, up to eight photos and a catalogue.

The guide is open at canadianjeweller.com/buyers-guide. For the launch overview, read 5,774 Suppliers, 57 Countries, One Search.
