The journey of LIBAR commenced in 1990 with Hagop Jack Libarian and Raffi Libarian learning the art of jewellery fabrication and wholesaling under their father’s tutelage. From a young age, the brothers were immersed in the intricate processes that would later become the foundation of their enterprise.

Upholding Family Traditions

In 1994, Hagop and Raffi fulfilled their dream of continuing the family tradition by incorporating H&R Design Jewellery Ltd. Fresh from high school, they embarked on their professional journey, producing innovative designs and custom pieces for retailers throughout Ontario. Their early efforts quickly earned them a reputation for creativity and quality.

By 1996, H&R Design Jewellery had expanded significantly, hiring more artisans to meet the increasing demand for their products. Hagop and Raffi honed their skills in diamond jewellery, serving a growing number of wholesalers and establishing a strong presence in the market.

The relocation to a larger facility at 27 Queen Street East in 1999 marked a significant milestone for H&R Design Jewellery. This move enabled the company to expand its team of designers, polishers, and diamond setters, ensuring that each piece met the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. The new headquarters were pivotal in supporting the company’s continued growth.

Creativity Unleashed

The year 2007 saw the birth of the LIBAR brand, introducing unique collections such as “Kissing Doves,” “Colours of Love,” and the “Unity Collection.” These collections, featuring high-quality diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals, showcased the company’s creative prowess and expanded its portfolio.

By 2015, LIBAR’s collections had gained widespread acclaim across Canada. The company welcomed new sales representatives to extend its reach further and began exhibiting at prominent Canadian trade shows in Toronto and Montreal. These efforts significantly enhanced LIBAR’s visibility and customer base.
