Swiss watchmaking house MB&F, celebrated for its avant-garde timepieces and mechanical art, has officially opened its newest boutique, MB&F LAB Silicon Valley, at The Villa Menlo Park. Developed in partnership with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, this retail space offers one of North America’s most extensive collections of MB&F’s horological innovations.
Located at 500 El Camino Real in Menlo Park, California, the boutique invites collectors and enthusiasts to explore a curated selection of MB&F’s intricate timepieces, conceptual desk clocks, and mechanical sculptures. The grand opening on January 23, 2025, was attended by MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser, Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry president Jared Silver, and a select group of collectors and clients, marking a significant milestone for the independent watch brand as it celebrates its 20th anniversary.
MB&F’s Global Expansion
Speaking on the occasion, Jared Silver highlighted the synergy between MB&F’s experimental approach to watchmaking and the pioneering spirit of Silicon Valley.
“From the beginning, it was clear that this radical, forward-thinking independent brand, MB&F, belonged in the most innovative part of the world – Silicon Valley – and at The Villa Menlo Park. The company’s ethos shines through in every creation, and their emphasis on collaboration and appetite for risk is valued greatly here,” he noted.
The boutique offers an exclusive collection of MB&F timepieces, including a limited-edition, 18-piece Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO, created specifically for Silicon Valley LAB in collaboration with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry.
The Silicon Valley location is the fifth MB&F LAB worldwide, following Paris, Singapore, Taipei, and Los Angeles. Founder Maximilian Büsser expressed his excitement about the opening, recognizing the region’s unique appreciation for technological innovation and traditional craftsmanship.
“There is a natural symbiosis between this part of the world, so driven by technology and innovation, and our out-of-the-box thinking and highly complex engineering. But I think that connection resonates even deeper thanks to something more unexpected: the traditional, hand-finished artisanship that we put into our watchmaking, offering a welcome dose of humanity in the very high-tech universe of Silicon Valley,” Büsser remarked.
With the launch of MB&F LAB Silicon Valley, collectors and enthusiasts now have a dedicated space to experience the brand’s daring designs and engineering brilliance firsthand.
