Top Diamond Jewellery Trends at the 2025 amfAR Gala in Cannes

The 31st annual amfAR Gala, hosted at the legendary Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, brought glamour and purpose together in a spectacular night of giving and style. With A-list celebrities gracing the red carpet, this year’s event celebrated the timeless brilliance of natural diamonds, setting the tone for luxury jewellery trends in 2025.

Chokers and Collars Take Centre Stage

Closely cropped diamond necklaces — from elegant collars to bold chokers — were a defining trend. Actress Teri Hatcher led the charge, showcasing a pearl and diamond collar with a drop diamond pendant, perfectly contrasted by her black velvet gown. She later graced the runway in a dazzling chandelier necklace by Chopard, reaffirming her status as a style icon.

Ciara, never one to shy away from glamour, took to the stage in Messika High Jewelry’s “Divine Enigma” necklace, featuring a breathtaking 12-carat yellow cushion-cut diamond. Model Pritika Swarup added sophistication with a teardrop diamond choker by Boucheron, while Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, attended the event in an intricate diamond collar from Chopard, alongside the maison’s Co-President and Artistic Director, Caroline Scheufele.

Cuffs and Bangles Deliver Refined Elegance

To balance ornate gowns, many attendees opted for understated diamond cuffs and bangles. Taraji P. Henson embraced this look with a bold diamond cuff, while Mariska Hargitay selected a rose gold and white diamond bracelet from Pomellato’s Iconica Collection, allowing her gown to remain the focus. Pritika Swarup coordinated her look with a matching teardrop bracelet from Boucheron, aligning beautifully with her necklace.

Statement Drop Earrings Steal the Show

Red carpet glamour extended upward with the popularity of drop earrings. Model Coco Rocha wore an eye-catching pair from Akillis’ Capture Me collection, crafted in 18k white gold and white diamonds. Taraji P. Henson made a bold statement with an asymmetrical single long drop earring — a trend spotted throughout the evening.

Influencer Leonie Hanne followed the “no necklace” trend, opting for long diamond earrings to complement her halter gown. Lena Mahfouf wowed in Chopard earrings and a statement necklace with a large coloured gemstone, while Teri Hatcher matched her Chopard necklace with coordinating earrings. Mariska Hargitay completed her Pomellato set with rose gold earrings featuring white and brown diamonds from the Fantina collection.

Bold Rings Make a Refined Statement

While many stars leaned towards minimalism, natural diamond rings offered a subtle yet captivating touch. Ciara wore a 13-carat Toi & Moi ring by Messika, combining a 5-carat pear-shaped diamond with a 7-carat heart-shaped pink diamond. Mariska Hargitay finished her look with a knot ring from Pomellato’s Catene Collection, while Pritika Swarup added a bold diamond ring to complete her Boucheron ensemble.

Men’s Jewellery Moments: Modern Luxury

Men brought their own sparkle to the gala. Actor Colman Domingo drew attention with Boucheron’s “Nuri, le Perroquet” earring — a parrot-inspired masterpiece featuring yellow beryl, pink tourmaline, onyx, garnets, and diamonds. Odell Beckham Jr. opted for classic refinement with a two-strand diamond necklace.

Spike Lee paired his diamond pendant by Boucheron with his wife, Tanya Lee’s, bold Y-shaped necklace and hoops, also from the brand. Oscar winner Adrien Brody accessorized with a diamond brooch from FRED Paris, reinforcing his reputation for red carpet innovation.
