Yorkdale relaunches CONCEPT temporary retailer initiative

Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre has relaunched its in-mall multi-vendor temporary retailer initiative, known as CONCEPT.

When it debuted in April, CONCEPT was launched as a destination for food. However, it has now relaunched as a fashion destination, with tenants including Peace Collective, Bather, MARY YOUNG, HAYLEY ELSAESSER, HEIRKid, and inkbox temporary tattoos.

Several of these mini-stores have full-size locations on Toronto’s Queen Street West. Giving these brands a space in Yorkdale will offer them exposure to shoppers who wouldn’t visit them otherwise—and expand Yorkdale’s retail reach.

To create the 3,600 square foot space, Oxford Properties partnered with figure3, a Toronto-based design firm.

In Retail Council of Canada (RCC)’s first annual Canadian Shopping Centre Study, Yorkdale ranked as Canada’s most productive shopping centre. On average, Yorkdale saw annual sales of over $1,650 per square foot. The mall continues to expand, with a new westward expansion wing opening this year. This section will be anchored by Restoration Hardware and Sporting Life.
