Nordstrom has announced plans to open locations of its discount Nordstrom Rack brand in Calgary and Vaughan, Ontario. This move, which comes as part of the brand’s continuing expansion into the Canadian Market, will be played out by spring 2018.
Nordstrom Rack is part of the upscale department store’s off-price retail division, selling products discounted by 30 per cent to 70 per cent off of Nordstrom’s regular prices.
The new 35,000-square-foot Vaughan location will be located at the Vaughan Mills shopping centre, which is situated about 30 kilometres north of Toronto. Meanwhile, the 30,500-square-foot Calgary site will be found at the Deerfoot Meadows shopping centre, 10 kilometres south of the downtown area. Another off-price Nordstrom Rack store is set to open in downtown Toronto in spring 2018.
This announcement comes as Nordstrom plans to open two new full-line stores in the Toronto area this year: one at the Eaton Centre on Sept. 16 and another at the Yorkdale Shopping Centre on Oct. 21. An additional full-line location is set to open at Sherway Gardens in fall 2017.
