19 individuals face trial over $50M Brussels diamond heist

According to Belga, a Belgian news agency, 19 people have been ordered to face trial over a $50 million diamond heist at Brussels Airport.

The robbery, which took place in February 2013, involved a gang of armed men posing as police in order to take the diamonds from a passenger plane. The entire event took less than 10 minutes and no shots were fired.

Nine suspects have been charged with direct involvement in the robbery, and the other 10 with hiding the diamonds. Six of the 19 have also been charged with money laundering in Belgium, Switzerland and Morocco. CJ
