First Jewelry Limited, the exclusive distributor of Persona, a leading brand in sterling silver bead and charm jewellery, has purchased Teagan Co., a Florida-based jewellery distributor.
Katie and Ernie Hinderliter began Teagan Co. in 2006. Named for their daughter, the brand is known for its affordable, officially licensed college beads. The beads come in a variety of traditional college colours and are crafted to fit most Pandora-style charm bracelets.
“With 190 million college sports fans, 89 million of them women and 31 million with incomes over $100,000, we wanted to be in the collegiate market,” says Neil Travis, the CEO of First Jewelry Limited. “In our research of the market we felt that Teagan Co. represented the best quality and most unique look to complement some new Persona collegiate designs that we will be introducing this summer.”
The Teagan Co. team will work closely with First Jewelry to expand the business further into the United States. The brand will move forward under the new name “Teagan by Persona,” and will continue to offer their current collection.
Simultaneously, Persona will launch a new Persona Campus Life collection, which will feature collegiate beads and charms as well as sorority styles available in stores this August. The collection will be available at participating retailers including Zales, Gordon’s and other independent jewellery stores. CJ
