Last week, Pandora announced the cutting of 116 more retailers from its distribution network in the Americas. These stores follow 230 other Pandora vendors dropped over the first and second quarter in this region, bringing its total number of axed stores to 346 for this year.
The Copenhagen-based company has stated that the closing of “unbranded stores”— retailers that carry only a limited assortment of Pandora jewellery—in the Americas is part of a larger strategy to focus more on company-owned and -operated stores.
The company notes that it will continue to expand its network of branded locations, with more than 375 concept store openings planned for the remainder of 2015. CJ
