Alrosa has reported the recovery of a 105.6-carat diamond from its Jubilee kimberlite pipe.
According to the Russian diamond mining company, the stone is transparent with a moderate yellowish hue and is octahedral in shape. Additionally, small olivine, graphite and sulphide inclusions can be seen within it.
The company’s Aikhal Mining and Processing Division extracted the stone from processing plant No. 14. The Jubilee pipe has generated a number diamonds weighing between 50 and 120 carats this year, including a 102.85-carat stone found in October. CJ
