Deborah Marquardt has been named chief marketing officer by the Diamond Producers Association (DPA). She will report directly to DPA CEO Jean-Marc Lieberherr. Marquardt will replace Sally Morrison, who left her position in the spring to work for Gemfields.
Marquardt will be leading all US activities for the DPA, focusing on integrated marketing and media initiatives. Along with her team, she will work with the media and the US diamond and jewellery industry to promote the diamond category with consumers.
Marquardt’s experience in strategic marketing to millennials, most recently serving as vice president and general manager of Time Inc.’s Style Network, is an asset to the association. She also spent 10 years at L’Oreal USA, leading media and marketing/communication teams for brands such as Maybelline New York.
Marquardt has also been recognized by The Delaney Report as the Corporate Media Executive of the Year, AdAge Media Maven, and an Advertising Working Mother of the Year.
“The addition of Deborah strengthens our leadership team at a pivotal time for the DPA,” Lieberherr said. “Her deep expertise in integrated, content-driven programs aimed at millennials, as well as cross-platform and social media, are critical to spearheading the launch of ‘Real is Rare,’ the DPA’s new category marketing platform.”
The DPA will debut the “Real is Rare” marketing campaign this fall.
