July 30, 2025 – Mumbai, India – India’s most prominent gem and jewellery trade event, IIJS Premiere 2025, officially opened this week at Mumbai’s JIO World Convention Centre and Bombay Exhibition Centre, welcoming global buyers and industry leaders to a show expected to generate over ₹70,000 crore in business over the next quarter.
Inaugurated by Shri Rahul Narwekar, Honourable Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, the 41st edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), celebrates India’s craftsmanship, design legacy, and growing global influence under the theme “Brilliant Bharat – Architecture of India.”

Spanning two venues and an impressive 135,000 square metres, IIJS Premiere 2025 features over 3,600 booths and 2,100 exhibitors, drawing more than 50,000 visitors from 1,300 Indian cities and 3,000+ international buyers from over 80 countries.
“The Indian gem and jewellery sector is not just growing, it’s evolving,” said GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali. “Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with the UAE, Australia, and the UK are unlocking new opportunities. With the India–UK FTA expected to double our bilateral trade to $7 billion within three years, we’re ushering in a new era of global expansion.”

The show’s key highlight is The Select Club—a curated high-jewellery section featuring couture creations from 118 elite exhibitors, housed at Jasmine Hall, JIO World Convention Centre. This exclusive experience showcases India’s finest in innovative luxury design.
Sustainability Takes Centre Stage
This year’s edition reinforces a bold commitment to sustainability. Powered entirely by green energy, IIJS has eliminated single-use materials and planted over 200,000 trees. GJEPC aims to declare a carbon-neutral target for IIJS by 2030 or 2032, supported by environmental initiatives such as rainwater harvesting and emission tracking.

Global Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange
Executives from ALROSA, Titan Company Ltd., and other industry powerhouses joined the opening day, highlighting IIJS’s role in fostering global partnerships. The Innov8 Talks seminar series offers an exclusive platform for product launches, thought leadership, and networking among next-gen jewellers and entrepreneurs.
Titan Jewellery Division CEO Ajoy Chawla emphasized India’s readiness to lead globally: “Our 5,000-year-old heritage gives us a distinct edge. As Indian jewellers, we must proudly embrace our design DNA while implementing global standards in customer service and sustainability.”

Diverse Offerings Across the Value Chain
From gold, diamond, and lab-grown diamond jewellery to silver, gemstones, and state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, IIJS Premiere offers unmatched access to the full spectrum of India’s jewellery industry.

GJEPC: Building Global Bridges for Indian Jewellers
With over 10,700 members and decades of export advocacy, GJEPC continues to empower Indian jewellers through strategic international outreach, including new ventures such as SAJEX in Saudi Arabia and IJEX in Dubai.
“This is a defining moment for Indian jewellers to think global and act bold,” added Bhansali.
