One of the Most Famous Names in Diamond’s History addressed CGA conference

The Canadian Gemmological Association hosted its 31st Annual Gem Conference and Graduation at the Pinnacle Hotel in Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
This event featured speakers from around the World. Our keynote speaker this year was Mark Cullinan of Cullinan Diamonds – Cullinan is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the diamond’s history. This year also included speakers of the like of Stuart Robertson, GG (GIA), Vice President and Research Director of GemWorld International Inc.,
Jon C. Phillips, GG (GIA), CG, Divisional Manager for Corona Jewellery Company and Duncan Parker, FGA, FCGmA, Vice President of Dupuis Fine Jewellery Auctioneers.
Donna Hawrelko, President of the Canadian Gemmological Association (CGA) and Chairperson of this year’s conference, declared the conference a success and remarked, “This in-person conference was extra special as it has taken place after a hiatus of over two years due to the life-changing pandemic. We thank our noted speakers, colleagues and friends who could join us this year.” “Apart from the knowledge gained and shared at the Gem Conference, we were also excited to honour our graduates and winners of the 4th Annual Emerging Artist
Design Competition.”
The conference covered varied topics from our very knowledgeable speakers, and every gem enthusiast present had something to take away from the conference. The conference, as always, also hosted the silent auction, and for the very first time, it was hosted live at  www.canadiangemmological.com. The CGA managed to raise funds which will be used to purchase gemmological equipment and material for our students.
