Petra Diamonds Limited has recovered a 122.52 carat blue diamond at the Cullinan mine in South Africa, the world’s most significant source of rare blue diamonds. The diamond is yet to be assessed to determine its value and sold by Petra after June 30.

Petra Diamonds is a leading independent diamond mining group that supplies rough diamonds to the international market, from fives mines in South Africa (Finsch, Cullinan, Koffiefontein, Kimberley Underground and Helam) and one in Tanzania (Williamson).

A blue diamond of this size is seen as rare. Photos of the newly recovered blue diamond can be seen on Petra’s website and in the image library. CJ
