It is with sadness that we inform you of the death of Mr. André Roy, who passed on July 28, 2017, at the age of 89.

Roy’s legacy in the jewellery industry was a long one. In the 1950s, he took over the management of jeweller J. Omer Roy & Fils, which was founded by his father in 1919. What’s more, he acted as president of the Quebec Jewellers’ Corporation (QJC) in the 1970s, and was one of the founding members of GEMME, the largest group of independent jewellers in Quebec.
People who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember his contagious good humor. His positivism was matched only by his determination: two qualities that served him throughout his professional and personal life.

He is survived by his wife Yvette, his children Lise, Normand (Josianne Charest), Michèle (Pierre-Yves Perreault) and André Jr. (Sandra Munger); His grandchildren, Isabelle, Alexandra, Marc-Olivier, Shokcoshish, Leonie, and Charles, along with Jean-Mathieu and his great-granddaughters Barbara and Helene with Ioan and Zackary. He also leaves behind his brother Michel (Huguette Ducharme) and his two sisters Jacqueline and Yolande, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

The family will receive your condolences Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 1 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm ,and Monday, August 14 from 9 am to 10:30 am at:
