During the month of September, the Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing as the city gets swept up by a myriad of red carpet galas, movie premieres and star-studded soirées. But one event that tops the list is the 2nd annual “Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year’s Women in Film,” held in partnership with Telefilm Canada at the Birks’ Bloor Street boutique.
This year, the renowned jeweller celebrated ten women that have made an exceptional contribution to the Canadian film industry. The honourees include actresses Anne Dorval, Cobie Smulders, Molly Parker, Sophie Nélisse, and
Tatiana Maslany, as well as directors Jennifer Baichwal, Marie-Hélène Cousineau, Madeline Piujuq Ivalu, Nancy Florence Savard, and Ric Esther Bienstock. CJ
