Umesh Shah and Stephen Cole, Chairmen of the Board of the Canadian Jewellers Association (CIA), are pleased to announce the appointment of Brian C. Land as the General Manager effective August 21, 2017.
Brian has more than 20 years of senior management experience in Canadian Retail including roles as Vice President of Sales and Operations at Peoples Jewellers Corporation; Divisional Vice President — Retail with Henry Birks & Sons and Vice President Retail — the Americas for Waterford Wedgewood Royal Doulton (WWRD).
As a past President and having served for more than 20 years on the Board of Directors of Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC), Brian also has a strong relationship to our industry’s associations and their memberships. Brian will assist in developing an updated strategic plan as well as relevant operating plan and budgets. In this position, Brian will ensure the continuity of the CJA’s programs and will spearhead the events in celebration of the CJA’s 100th Anniversary in 2018.
