Lucapa uncovers 133.4-carat diamond

Australian diamond producer Lucapa Diamond Company has recovered a 133.4-carat stone from its Lulo diamond mine. This colossal find breaks the record for largest stone recovered from the Angolan mine, surpassing 2012’s 131.4-carat find.

The specimen was found in a new excavation area. Within its first few days of processing, the area yielded the 133.4-carat diamond and three other diamonds of 29.2 carats, 12.37 carats, and 11.1 carats.

The company notes that while the diamond is not of high quality, it suggests the potential of the deposit. CJ
