Michael Hill CEO Steps Down

Mike Parsell, CEO of Michael Hill International, has announced that he will step down after 16 years with the company.

Parsell joined Michael Hill when it operated just three stores. Since then, the retailer has opened 300 international outlets and rolled out its Emma & Roe brand.

Emma Hill, the chair of Michael Hill, says that CFO Phil Taylor will act as CEO until a permanent replacement is found. Taylor joined the company in 1987 and has been CFO since 2003.

Parsell notes that now is “a good time for a change in leadership, as the business is performing well and has a stable and experienced leadership team”.
