Pandora has announced the cutting of its distribution to 183 silver, white and travel-level retailers in the Americas in the fourth quarter. Most of the cut stores were located in the United States.
The company’s continued shutdown of silver, white and travel-level retailers in this region is part of its overall strategy to increase distribution worldwide to the “branded” portion of its distribution network—including shop-in-shops, gold level retailers and its concept stores.
The fourth-quarter figure follows cuts of 105, 125 and 116 locations in the first, second and third quarters, respectively. This brings the year-end total to 529 “unbranded” doors closed—nearly 38 per cent of the company’s entire network of unbranded retailers. CJ
