The Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation (WWGF) is making waves in the watchmaking industry by welcoming three prestigious new members: Chanel, Hermès, and LVMH. This integration signifies a commitment to broader collaboration and innovation within the industry.
Founded in September 2022 by industry giants Rolex, Richemont, and Patek Philippe, the WWGF is dedicated to fostering the global watchmaking community. The addition of Chanel, Hermès, and LVMH to the WWGF Board marks an important milestone in this mission.
A New Chapter of Leadership
As part of this transition, leadership roles within the WWGF are also evolving. Jean-Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Rolex and Chairman of the Board for the past two years, will step down on July 1, 2024. Cyrille Vigneron, President and CEO of Cartier, will take over as Chairman, with Dufour becoming the Treasurer. Claude Peny will serve as Vice-Chairman alongside Vigneron.
Under this new leadership, the WWGF aims to continue shaping the future of the Watches and Wonders Geneva event, a cornerstone gathering for the watchmaking world. This year’s edition boasted 54 exhibiting brands and attracted 49,000 visitors, setting a new record.
With its new members, the WWGF Board is well-positioned to enhance the reach and impact of Watches and Wonders Geneva. The board’s strategic focus will be on defining development axes that ensure the event remains a central platform for innovation and excellence in watchmaking.
The Exhibiting Committee, comprising representatives from the exhibiting brands, will continue to play a crucial role in the event’s success. This collaborative approach ensures that Watches and Wonders Geneva remains relevant and exciting for both exhibitors and attendees.
