Last week, JCK announced the six recipients of its 18th annual Industry Fund, a series of grants that are awarded to individuals, groups or associations whose work benefits the overall industry. In 2016, these value of these awards topped over $293,000.

Specifically, the fund grants awards to projects and initiatives that: improve the consumer’s view of the jewellery industry, aid industry organizations in addressing serious problems, and/or assisting internal organizations and associations to develop training materials.

This year’s winners include Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF), Diamond Council of America (DCA), Jewelers of America (JA), Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA), Jewelers Vigilance Canada Inc. (JVC Canada), and Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC).

“We are pleased to stand behind the initiatives of this year’s JCK Industry Fund recipients,” says Yancy Weinrich, senior vice-president of JCK. “This group is at the forefront of addressing current challenges for the jewellery industry including security, protection, consumer confidence and education. Their approach not only addresses these critical needs but also prepares the industry for the future by educating the next generation of consumers and industry professionals.”

The Industry Fund Advisory Committee, which consists of JCK representatives, retailers and manufacturers, selects the fund recipients. Submissions of applications for the 2017 grants will begin in October. For more information, click here.
