This weekend, the Jewelers International Show (JIS) added some sparkle to the Miami Beach Convention centre for its October show. This year’s show stunned attendees with its shining new pavilions, mobile app and revamped show floor.
The show featured a completely redesigned show floor, organized by product categories and specialty pavilions. JIS also hosts a variety of pavilions from a number of different countries, making it a hotspot for international retailers. This year, JIS unveiled its new Italian Pavilion, created in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency. With 43 companies from across Italy’s jewellery production districts, the Italian Pavilion was the largest of the show.
Additionally, the Plumb Club pavilion was a huge hit, offering a lounge for all retailers as well as a business centre and credit raffle drawings. This pavilion hosted “Best in Class” manufacturers from all over the industry, featuring top-tier exhibitors like PAJ and Benchmark.
The show also featured a brand new JIS show mobile app, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese for Apple and Android devices. The app includes show and travel information, searchable exhibitor and product lists, a schedule, floor map, and My Show, a planning tool. Additionally, exhibitors used the CompuLEAD Smart app to scan attendee badges, allowing them to virtually collect business cards.
Moreover, the show’s annual Retailer of the Year award was announced, with first prize going to Ballerina Jewelers of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
