On August 21, London Jewelers became the first U.S. jeweller to carry the Apple Watch. The New York chain is selling the Edition model at two of its five locations in Manhasset and East Hampton.
The 18-karat gold Edition smartwatch retails between $10,000 and $17,000 and features a display protected by polished sapphire crystal. Currently, the only other U.S. retailers to carry Apple’s watch products are high-end L.A. boutique Maxfield and electronics vendor Best Buy.
While Apple’s plans to target other jewellers are unknown at the moment, the tech giant has hired Patrick Pruniaux, TAG Heuer’s former vice president of global sales. This may point to a planned future release to other stores. CJ
