Saks Fifth Avenue is set to begin building its first two Canadian stores; one in downtown Toronto and one in Sherway Gardens. These stores are scheduled to open in the spring of 2016, with five more Canadian stores to open in the future. While Montreal and Vancouver are confirmed to house at least one Saks store, there is speculation that Calgary and Edmonton may also be added to that list, reports Retail Insider. The Canadian stores are speculated to feature luxury food halls inspired by Harrold’s stores across the U.K.

The flagship store located in Hudson Bay’s 850,000 square foot store at the Eaton Centre, is reported to be around 150,000 square feet. Saks’ opening will soon be followed by Nordstrom’s new Toronto store, also at the Eaton Centre. As for the 130,000 square feet Sherway Gardens location, it will soon share space with a 138,00 square Nordstrom location, as well as new Sporting Life and Harry Rosen stores. CJ
