United Precious Metal Refining, Inc. (UPMR) recognizes its responsibility to the precious metal industry to ensure that the material that they purchase and use in their refining meets the highest standards of their own due diligence. In that regard, UPMR, in addition to their own high internal standards, subjects themselves to periodic examinations from outside sources to certify that their standards are continued and that they are always at or above the ever-evolving requirements of their industry.

UPMR is a member of the RJC – Responsible Jewellery Council and is certified as compliant with its Code of Practices Standard. The RJC sets international standards on responsible practices for diamonds, gold, and platinum group metals. The Code of Practices encompasses, but is not limited to, the areas of human rights, labor rights, environmental impact, mining practices, and product disclosure.

UPMR is recognized by the RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) – formerly the EICC – as conformant with the requirements of the Responsible Minerals Initiative Standard for Responsible Minerals Assurance Process for sourcing gold.  This standard, which is aligned with the OECD Guidance Annex II Model Supply Chain Policy, is in place to assess whether UPMR’s policies and procedures ensure compliance with the OECD standards and that they are adequately performing appropriate due-diligence in conformance with the relevant RMAP standards.

UPMR is also certified by SCS Global Services as conformant with SCS Recycled Content Standard V7-0 that 100% of Gold comes from recycled sources. This certification ensures that this material does not originate from mining sources and helps to conserve natural resources.
